Why Do Christians Give?

Michael Parks & Daniel Emig

What Motivates You?

What motivates you to give?

As believers, we often look to scripture to guide our giving. Some motivations are listed below...what motivates you to give?

Worship

  • Giving is a way to show love for God and to express gratitude, trust, and obedience.

Faith

  • Giving can increase faith in God and help people break free from the love of money.

Imitation of God

  • Christians are called to imitate God, who is a God of abundance and loves to give.

Response to God's generosity

  • Christians believe that everything they have is a gift from God, and that they should use their possessions to benefit the world.

Eternal rewards

  • Christians believe that what they give up, they gain.

Positive effects on relationships

  • Giving can have positive effects on human relationships and can lead to a heightened sense of interdependence and cooperation.

Being a good steward

  • Being a generous giver can be facilitated by being a wise and faithful steward in every area of finances.

Making an impact

  • The desire to share with others in such a way that lives will be changed.
